Thrive Youth Center’s housing program is funded by the Department of Housing and Urban Development and allows us to house 45 young adults each year in apartments of their choosing throughout the San Antonio area. Thrive received the HUD Continuum of Care grant beginning in 2017 allowing us to house 20 young adults annually, and, in addition, began receiving the Youth Homelessness Demonstration Program grant in 2020 which has allowed us to house an additional 25 youth for up to two years.

While part of our housing program, youth are partnered with a Case Manager to assist them with creating a plan to accomplish their goals. Youth also have access to a Life Skills Program Manager to assist in the adjustment to independent living, teaching skills such as budgeting, grocery shopping and preparing food, household tasks like laundry and cleaning, maintaining healthy relationships, and being mindful of physical and emotional wellness.
